Abstract:	This dataset shows the location of operational windfarms in the USA. It provides the location and the name of each farm but doesn't provide information on the sie, or number or power output of farms. It currently gives the location of 947 windfarms.
Lineage:	This data was sourced from OpenEnergyInfo (http://en.openei.org/wiki/Map_of_Wind_Farms) which is Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy and developed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in support of the Open Government Initiative to make energy data transparent, participatory, and collaborative. The data was scraped in September 2012, but there is no indication of the accuracy or when it was last updated.
