Abstract:	This dataset contains the World Political boundaries in shapefile format. The data is more detailed than the other boundary dataset (World Political Boundaries - Coarse) held on ShareGeo (http://hdl.handle.net/10672/22) and has been favourably reviewed in a comparison of free world boundary files (http://barendgehrels.blogspot.com/2010/12/free-shapefiles-of-of-world-3.html). Basic statistics for each country (births/deaths/population/life expectancy) are also included.
